You might remember that a while back I wrote a blog post about how I’m using Reddit to drive thousands of free and targeted visitors to my niche sites but today I’ve decided to take it a step further and show you a real life case study of how it’s done so that you can see it first hand!
In this video you’ll be able to watch me create a ‘viral’ piece of content that’s designed to do well on reddit and then you’ll see exactly how I submit it to reddit so that it brings thousands of unique visitors to the site.
1,194 visitors from one submission…
The submission that I show you in the video resulted in a total of 1,194 visitors that day:
Which is not bad for a submission that only took me a couple of minutes to do!
And if you want to check out the content that I submitted for yourself you can do so by heading over to TimeToLegalize.org.
But reddit isn’t just awesome for traffic…
Because it’s also phenomenal for SEO and it not only allows you to get a tonne of extremely high quality backlinks from reddit which is one of the most authoritative websites in the world but it also often results in people re-posting links to your content all over the web including on social networks, forums, blogs and more!
I’ve been using reddit for a long time now to promote sites in all kinds of niches and I can tell you that this stuff works in just about any niche. Reddit is such a big site with so many different niche related sections that there’s bound to be a section of the site that’s perfect for you to submit your link too.
So start submitting your content to reddit today because that’s really all there is to it!
Hey Jay
Living the wild ride of Cannabis legalization in Wa state as state license application window of 11/18-12/17 just opened. Currently there are many interested growers and less so for the 334 retail slots.
1st week 445 applications total, including mine for Producer/Processor!
Retail pot shops will serve all visitors, you don’t need to be a Wa resident.
One of the problems I’ve found with Reddit is I end up spending more time browsing than I do submitting links and generating those backlinks. The traffic you can get from getting on the front page and having your post go viral is great, definitely much more powerful than Digg, which I think has lost a lot of it’s traffic over the years and is nowhere near as effective as it used to be.
Completely off topic, a post about improving productivity whilst stoned would definitely benefit me. Need to put the bong down and get back to work, ha.
Take it easy, love reading the blog 🙂
Nice video mate. 🙂
btw, Niche is pronounced as neesh.
You are obviously an American, there is actually no ‘correct’ way to pronounce Niche-British people pronounce it like Jay, and you yanks go for the double E sound-for some reason Americans think their way of speaking is the ‘correct’ way-despite England being where English comes from….
No, I’m not an American.
I’m European, and word “niche” also has European roots. Actually it’s from Latin language, but used a lot in Italian and French. I was advocating the French version.
No hard feelings, I speak more than 3 languages and English is not my first language, so, since English is your first language, let’s say that you’re right.
Hi Jay,
I recently lanched a new website for conducting online survey and have been really looking at ways to promote it and get more users…
I been considering other channels but never considered Reddit as one of the channel (thou I was aware of it, I never seen success coming thru it)
After watching the kick ass video of yours, I am really impressed especially considering the amount of traffic a single post on Reddit can generate… And the thing, I just loved about you…. Instead of telling me be a guru to drive traffic, you just told me the way to get the fucking traffic right away….
Guess, I need to watch your videos more often….
Good work….
Thank you, great video, now It is time to join your newsletter,,and follow you on social media…thx again great job
Is it possible to just post videos on reddit to get traffic?
I think the clue is all in the title: Red It, as in Read so it mostly about the written word, try Vimeo or Youtube for video SEO
You can also post videos to Reddit I do it all the time for my Youtube videos. For back-linking and traffic. Hell even Youtube has a share button for Reddit.
I watched this video in the library, stoned and giggling off my ass, because I just did all this yesterday before I even watched the video. And everything he said is literally happening as we speak. Ive already got 5 comments, 8 upvotes, and Im on the top of my subreddit. I didn’t even know the part about the comments becoming backlinks. Bonus!
I never knew about “Sub-Redditts”…what a great resource….AWESOME Video!! Thanks!!
Awesome tips…Thanks for the post now I can utilize Reddit!
Thanks for the hints, looks like there are plenty of untapped strategies there. Is there any limitations, in your opinion, based on the specifical niche? In other words, if my site is for example about health diseases, can work anyway?
Thanks Jay for your videos. Really appreciate them! One question, when you start a Reddit account do you use the same domain that you want to send a link to or just a generic email account?
